Magazine publication
Work from the coastal industry projects has appeared as editorial photo-essays in Granta and The Sunday Times Magazine, reaching national audiences with long-form reportage on working trades and the people who sustain them.
Why this work resonates
Coastal industry and commercial fishing have sustained communities for generations. The work carries physical risk, demands precision and skill honed over years, and deserves the attention of serious documentation. Yet these trades have largely disappeared from public view — their absence barely noticed even as the people who work them carry the cost.
Gallery audiences and editors have recognised in this work an urgency to witness and record labour that is both dignified and precarious, and to preserve a visual record of work that shapes the world but remains largely unseen.
